It’s been a while…
A lot has happened…
My kids have gotten bigger, we have all grown older. My hair is in desperate need of a dye job. I have lost some friends, lost some family. We have gone on vacations and had wonderful holidays. Like everyone else, we have struggled and we have thrived.
I have been my own boss for a full year now! It has been challenging as I learn to balance home and school for the kids and my own business. I’ve never been a very good juggler, so it’s all a learning experience.
Last year I really wanted to get back to reading for fun. I really wanted to tackle the challenge of reading every book referenced in the Gilmore Girls television series, but it really just wasn’t good timing for me. I did finally give in and began listening to audio books. I have this obsession with books, to be honest, and I love the feel of them, the smell of them…

There was just never enough time in my day to sit down and crack open a book! Well, at least not one that wasn’t intended to be read to one of the kids. I would get these great chunks of time while cutting out my embroidery work that I would end up with the television turned on. I would either stop cutting and watch t.v. or I would miss certain things going on within the program while I focused on my work! I found an app on my phone called Overdrive, I linked it to my local library account and wham-bam-thank-you-mam I was listening to books while I worked! I was actually getting more done and zooming through story after story!
This year I have decided to begin tackling the Rory Gilmore Reading List Challenge! I found a list of the 339 books referenced in the seven season series of Gilmore Girls and I am slowly adding them to my GoodReads account. Although I was planning to read them season by season, I also joined a group on GoodReads and may try to follow along with their suggested reading order. Either way, I have actually read many of the books on the list, but I want to rise to this challenge and will be reading each book with a new pair of eyes, or ears, as I tackle the list!
So… Who cares, right? Well, in order to hold myself more accountable, I will be blogging updates and book reviews as I go. I’m certainly no expert in the world of books, but I know what I like and my brain is constantly searching for hidden meanings and references as I travel through time and space with each character. I will also work on getting some of my totally random thoughts out into the cyber-verse, as well as updates on our homeschooling journey!
Happy 2019 ya’ll!

Heidi I am so happy that you decided to go back to blogging. I am hoping to take this journey with you as we read learn and play with our kids and work on our business together happy 2019!!
