Outside my window…
Cold and dark, just the way I like it! Of course, it’s still not cold enough. Work hasn’t picked up as much as I like but I’m not complaining! I’m just wishing some of the other states that have been hogging all the “good” weather might send some of it out the Cali way!
I am thankful…
For my wonderful Terra!!! Got to see my long-time friend and her family, that I adore!!! I am thankful that she is still friends with me after all these years. Whenever I see her I feel like she lets me talk and talk and I come home feeling like I didn’t get enough time to hear about her day-to-day. I am thankful she still loves me even if I am such a talker!!!

Facebook debates. Somehow even the most random post ends up being a debate of freedom of speech. The fact is, we are all allowed our opinions. If you plan to argue it out because you are waiting for others to tell you that you are right, then you might as well hold your breath and bang your head against a wall. I don’t “argue” to make someone think the way I do, I just work in an office where I am by myself. I tend to be a little anti-social, and I have a one-year-old. Good-ole growed-up conversations are far and few between, so every once in a while I jump into a conversation I don’t need to “win” simply to get my brain going.

Learning all the time…
Learning to listen to my inner voice just like I used to! I’ve always prided myself on my ability to not only “read” people, but to have good intuition. I think we get so nervous to do something “wrong” that we try every other option before going with our gut! My guts might be gross-looking but they are usually pretty spot on, so I am learning to doubt myself less.

From the kitchen…
Hubby got a great deal on chicken last week, so we’ve been doing a lot of that! Tonight though, a $7 pizza from Mountain Mike’s. The kitchen is clean and the dishes are done, pizza sounded wonderful!

I am creating…
Wish I was creating something! I’ve been overtaken once again by the “clean-up” crew! Had a Holiday Boutique at my house last weekend that didn’t do so well, but got my butt in gear to get the house cleaned. Unfortunately while most of the house is clean, a few of the rooms got the “carryover” until we had more time to get to things. Hence the takeover in my sewing room. Hopefully this week will see the final relocation of those items and some productivity happening in the sewing room.

Keeping my head together while we go for round two with gestational diabetes tests! Yes, that’s right, the good news I had a few weeks ago dissapointingly crashed into reality when a regular test showed too much sugar, again! Had a one-hour blood test last week, yes I got to drink that oh-so yummy glucose drink for the fourth time this pregnancy! Test came back high again, so now I get to go in for another 3 hour test and one more chance to drink that drink! What can a girl do? I have less than two months till this next baby arrives, I am just thankful that if I do get diabetes, I am only getting it this late in the pregnancy and haven’t had to deal with the daily testing so far.

I was able to control my blood sugar without insulin during my last pregnancy, and it made me do more exercise. I know, the last trimester, especially the last month, no mommy-to-be wants to be focusing on exercise, but I contribute my quick bounce-back to work thanks to being in better shape before I gave birth! So, I really should have been doing more from the beginning, I just got a little lazy…

Finished Wizard of Oz, now reading the next in the series… Although the name of it has slipped my mind! Some story with Jack Pumpkinhead. Scarecrow has a roll but I’m not loving the book. I’m not sure if Oz was such an acclaimed book prior to the movie, but this second story is coming off a bit forced. I’ve read a few series books, Stephen King’s Dark Tower is a series that spans almost King’s whole lifetime, and while the ending of the final book did not sit well with some, I loved the entire series and plan to read the books again and again!

For a friend having a hard time with her pregnancy, for another that could go into labor any day now, and for the friends and family that are “trying” and those that will be “hatching” in the near future! Also for patience and tolerance for myself and for others. I don’t know that the times we live in are any more “trying” than any other generation but I feel like we have more followers and less moral leaders.

Donald Trump (ahhh!!!) hosting a show called Curiosity. Although I dislike The Trump, the show itself has been actually interesting. The episode “What’s America Worth” has covered everything from how much we waste vs. can make when it comes to recycling (showed metal and food) products that have saved America, from wheels on luggage to bullet-proof vests and then tells us what it’s all worth at the end of the day. Honestly, for all worthless people out there complaining about what they don’t have, there is a lot out there that America is actually producing.
