Outside my window…

Dark and cold…  No really!  It was like summer weather this morning but our evenings are good-ole wintery!  Someone really should have gotten something in writing from that crazy groundhog!

I am thankful…

For two amazing little girls that have incredible sleeping habits!  Baby Sister is now sleeping 6-8 hours each night.  Jealous?  Yeah, well…  Sorry (evil grin).

I am thinking about…
The fact that Big Sister will be TWO-YEARS-OLD next week!  What an amazing two years it has been!  I am refusing to give-in to the “terrible twos.”  Don’t get me wrong the terrible is among us and getting stronger every day.  I am learning (and teaching hubby) how to take lots of deep breaths and know that each year will have different obstacles to overcome and even more moments that make the tougher times worth it!

Learning all the time…
Well, we’ve all ready covered the terrible twos…  What else am I learning?  Lot’s of stuff about blogs.  Trying really hard to get this blog thing going and running smoothly.

From the kitchen…
Working on creating a weekly/monthly menu plan.  Otherwise, not much going on here.  Lot’s of leftovers to clear out the fridge.  I am very excited about making a cake (from scratch) and homemade strawberry ice cream for the Birthday girl!

I am creating…
Well, I have a list of things I should be creating!  That counts, right?  In all honesty I have been stalling and then blaming it all on being busy with the Sisters.  I know, I know, I’m working on it!

I am working on…
Creating…  Right?  Tee-hee…  No, seriously!  I am working on that menu, working on dealing with the terrible twos, working on time management…  Then I can start working on creating!

I am going…
To be having a very small get-together to celebrate Big Sister’s Birthday!  I’m going to cook up something yummy for the family.  I’m going to enjoy every moment!

I am hoping…
That I finish Big Sister’s present and Birthday dress!  The present is a costume (I have a pattern) but the Birthday dress is going to be an original, custom dress by ME!  I’m very nervous not only because I have to get it done this week but also because I have never made something without a pattern before.  I’ve been reading a bunch of blogs though that give fabulous tutorials so I’m hoping with all my note taking that it turns out super-duper!  Once it’s done I promise to post pictures and give links for the sites that not only inspired me but gave me the step-by-steps to get it all done!

I am reading…
Blogs and patterns, patterns and blogs.  Every.  Chance.  I.  Get!  Once Little Sister is on a better schedule I might get to start reading books again.  I did get a recommendation from a customer at work a few weeks ago, Nothing like It in the World: The Men Who Built the Transcontinental Railroad 1863-1869.  We were talking about trains and history, and how we appreciate history more as we get older.  He said this was a really good book about both and I fully intend to check it out when I get a minute to breath!

I am praying…
For my brother.  I am missing him terribly and each week when there is a Facebook post or picture post I search voraciously to see even a glimpse of him!  I think sometimes I just try to convince myself that someone is him even if I know it’s probably not.  I’m praying for his wife and son as they count down the moments until they get to see him next.  Also for my family and friends that are welcoming new lives into their families!  And for the family and friends that are just trying to get by, each and every day.

I am hearing…
Baby Sister trying to suck her thumb!  As I sit here typing frantically I know I am pushing my luck each second that goes by as we get closer to feeding time!

Around the house…
Same old stuff!  Laundry, dishes, cleaning house.  I’m glad we decided to keep this years party small, it makes much less work and preparation with the house!

One of my favorite things…
Being able to work and still watch my own children.  They are amazing!  And I treasure every minute with them, even the difficult ones!

A few plans for the rest of the week…
Sewing, cleaning, getting ready for Big Sister’s party.  She doesn’t really get it yet, less so than Christmas…  Probably because for Christmas we decorate the house a month before!  We keep telling her that she will get cake and presents but I think she doubts us since she hasn’t seen anything yet!

Random thought…
Alright, not so random but I am hating my cutting table right now!  I really need to remember to post a review about it, not that it’s new or anything but the stupid wheels are falling off!  It’s a great table, well, it was a great table!  It’s made to “fold” down so that storing is easier.  That part has always been fine.  The problem is the fold-down sides.  They have a “swinging” leg that has a caster wheel to that the leg swings to and away from the table.  Well, one wheel fell off within a year of buying the table.  I thought the hubby did it but after thinking about it I may have leaned on the table a bit too hard.  Today, I barely leaned on the table and the other swinging side wheel broke off!  Normally I would just brush it off and “fix” it.  Problem is, it can’t be fixed!  We’ve tried gluing the wheel but it basically is mounted to a piece of plastic that was somehow adhered to the metal leg.  Nothing sticks to the stupid stuff though!  Not sure what we’re going to do with it now…  Either take off all the other wheels so that it sits flat on the ground or take the table apart and rebuild the legs so they won’t break anymore…

Here are picture thoughts I am sharing with you….
